Insurance Woes
So, I'm sitting here on campus and going through my mail and I get a notice to sign up for premium life insurance. I have been considering getting this through a company for Baby, but can't decide on one. I never thought of getting it for me or Ryan until today. It's one of the newest forms of Life Insurance and it sounds really good. It's sort of like term life insurance, but as long as you don't die before the policy expires, you get all of your premium you paid back!
Another thing bothering me is my weight. I know, I know. I'm pregnant, I'm supposed to gain weight, but I put on 8 lbs in 5 weeks. It hurts to hear your doctor say "Don't eat every time you're hungry." Which of course translates to a pregnant lady as "You fat cow - quit stuffing your pie hole." He could have said "Eat smaller meals, more fruits and veggies, try healthier alternatives, etc" but he didn't. I know I need to watch my weight though, especially since it impacts my life insurance rates. We all know a healthy person gets cheaper rates, which is why I need to be sure not to put on too much weight. I'm small, 5'6", 112lbs initially, but if I gain weight and don't lose it that's bad. It can affect my heart, my body, my overall health.
That's also one of the reasons I won't allow Ryan to smoke. Smoking affects your health and therefore causes higher premiums. Nobody wants to waste money on high insurance rates - we can save money on our insurance by him not smoking which also saves us the money of him not buying cigarettes!
